Glenmore youngsters have fun at home and away

GLENMORE AC enjoyed two fun nights out last week, on home soil at the Bush and on Blackrock beach.

113 athletes enjoyed an evening of obstacle races and ice cream, while the trophies won at the Louth Summer League over the last two years were also proudly on display. This year's Summer League takes place in July and August and all athletes are encouraged to take part.

On Friday evening a number of athletes travelled the short distance to the Annual Blackrock Beach Races.

The first race was the girls U-16 900m where Hannah Stewart delivered a fine run, easily taking first place,

Next up Fionn O Reilly finished 6th in the Boys U-8 300m, while Ava Brady had a great run in the Girls U-10 600m. In the boys equilivant Shaun Quinn was 4th and Liam Quinn 6th.

Ciara Quinn took the win in the Girls U-12 600m, ahead of Anna Mc Ardle in 5th and Alice Ferguson. The Boys U-12 600m was won impressively by James McArdle who led from start to finish. Niall Brady was 6th with his brother Darragh Brady a close 8th.

In the U-14 Girls 900m Nicola Ferguson finished in 2nd place, while Lorna Keenan and Lauren Quinn also posted great runs. Last, but not least, Aine O'Reilly competed in the Tiny Tots Race.

The Fit For Life sessions continue every Wednesday and Sunday and juvenile training is on Tuesday and Thursdays from 7-8pm. See for more details.
