In-form Cooley get off to a flyer

COOLEY Kickhams comprehensively beat Naomh Mairtin in a delayed throw-in at Fr Mc Evoy Park on Sunday.

In a game the home side dominated throughout, Brian White got the ball rolling with three well taken frees.

Things would get even worse for the Mairtins when Jason Long blasted home from close range to give the men from the peninsula a seven point lead. A late Nicky McDonnell point meant the Mairtins went in at the break 1-5 to 0-2 behind.

Any chances of a Mairtins comeback were soon extinguished when Sean Donnelly scored Cooley's second goal of the afternoon to give his side a comfortable lead.

Brian White's fifth point put twelve between the sides and Cooley's victory was rubberstamped when Sean Donnelly scored a well taken point late on.
