Four-midable Glens make it two wins from two outings

GLEN Emmets picked up their second win of the Division 3 league but they didn't have it all their own way against the Nicks in Drogheda on Sunday afternoon.

It wasn't until the third quarter, when they struck 2-5 without reply, that the Tullyallen men finally took a grip on the game.

In a low-scoring first half, the opening four points were shared before the Nicks took the lead through a Roy Kierans penalty despite having Paddy O'Boyle red carded.

However, straight from the kick-out, the Emmets responded with a goal from Conor Grimes and a Mark Noone point had them 1-3 to 1-2 ahead at the break. The Nicks levelled shortly after the restart and it looked as if the game would remain close.

However, goals on six and eight minutes from Mark Noone and Conor Grimes put their side in command and the result was beyond doubt when they added five unanswered points.Conor Cusack added a fourth goal in the 21st minute to seal a comfortable win in the end.
