Wild Goose Lodge events revisited
DUNDALK Theatre Workshop are to revisit the events which saw Wild Goose Lodge enter the history books when they stage Paul McArdle's play in the Tain Theatre, Dundalk Town Hall in May.
The group first staged the play, which looks at the events surrounding the burning of Wildgoose Lodge at Killanny in 1816 and the subsequent execution of those blamed for the murders, 15 years ago.
'The story is very much of local interest and Paul has returned to the script and re-written it,' explains Matt.
By a weird twist of fate, the set for the play, which had been stored in old warehouses on the Long Walk, was damged by fire the night before the production was due to open in the Town Hall.
However, the show went on and Matt promises that this time the play will be given a very spectacular production.
'We will be holding auditions for the play in midFebruary and it will run from May 9th to 15th.'
