Special presentation night for local Scouts

Fr Tommy McNulty (outgoing Chaplain) received a framed photograph taken by Marty Garland. The photograph captured the Cooley Mountains were he spent many of his childhood years and was taken from Dundalk, from were he is departing.

Fr McNulty will be missed by the group, who wish him best of luck in his new position in Armagh. Also present on the evening was Fr McGinn, incoming Chaplain, whom the group warmly welcome.

Christopher Browne, Kevin Long, Aidan McGuinness and Niall Parkin, all received vouchers for Outdoor Exchange. The 4 Venturer Scouts, each undertook what is known as “The Explorer Belt”, in Portugal earlier this year. The Venturers had to hike 200km in 10 days, and complete various tasks along the way. All four lads successfully completed the journey, and the Scout Group wanted to personally reward them for their efforts.

Fintan McQuaid and Patsy Seery, received a Thanks Award for their service to Scouting through the years, especially through the “Bingo era”. Fintan and Patsy were also conferred with honorary membership of the group and were presented with a framed embroidered neckerchief “Honorary Member, 1st 2nd 5th Louth Scout Group, Dundalk”. The recipients also received another neckerchief for wear.



1st 2nd 5th Louth, are now enrolling new members. Boys and young adults aged between 6 and 21, interested in joining or Adults wishing to become involved as Assistant Leaders, should contact Gerry Finnegan on 086 8213031.
