Reduction in litter fines

Cllr Liam Reilly wanted to know if the number of litter fines issued to October 2014 was down on previous years.

He noted that 259 fines were issued and commented that: 'It used to be a lot higher. We used to be amongst the highest in the county.'

Acting Director of Service Ms Mary T Daly told him that the fines were down because they were down a litter warden and she also hoped that the number of fines being issued had decreased due to the fact that their campaign and litter hotline was working.
