Pharma firm set to create 300 jobs

UK-based company to open major new EU facility at IDA's Mullagharlin site

A major jobs boost for the town is on the cards after the UK based Wasdell Group announced this week they are setting up a new pharmaceutical packaging, testing and distribution facility in Dundalk, creating 300 new jobs over the next five years.

Wasdell confirmed they are set to build a 70,000 square ft. facility at the IDA's site in Mullagharlin, representing an investment of €30 million. Based in Swindon, England, the company is one of the largest contract primary and secondary packaging suppliers to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in Europe.

IDA CEO Martin Shanahan said: 'Wasdell's decision to establish operations in Dundalk is great for the town and County Louth. It is also an ideal example of the type of Brexit linked opportunity we are working hard to secure.'

The company are set to recruit in a wide range of areas including general management, QA/QC including QPs, production manager and supervisors, laboratory, engineering and maintenance, production operatives, warehouse, finance and administration, health and safety and HR.
