Oxfam offering a range of 'born again' computers

SAVE money and the environment with Dundalk Oxfam's 'Born Again' range of refurbished computers now being offered at knock down prices.

With prices starting from €120 for a desktop and €180 for a laptop, the range of computers are now available from Oxfam's store on Clanbrassil Street, Dundalk, or online at

Oxfam Ireland's Director of Trading, Trevor Anderson, said: 'With the costs of technology soaring, we can offer families in Dundalk a great value and eco-friendly option with the Born Again computer range. Not everyone wants or needs the newest technology and often a trustworthy and user friendly laptop or desktop is all that is needed in the home.'

'Having access to a personal laptop or home desktop has become increasingly important for keeping in touch with today's modern lifestyles. People can get a high quality computer for a fraction of the cost while diverting machines away from local landfill and raising vital funds for our projects around the world.'

'Every desktop and laptop sold will help to change the lives in people in severe poverty through our emergency response to situations like the current Syria crisis, long-term development projects and campaigning work.'

Each computer has been restored, tested and supplied with the Microsoft 7 Home Premium operating system and applications including Open Office and Adobe PDF Viewer. Each laptop and desktop comes with a six-month warranty.

Divided into three spec/usage categories, the Surfer desktop (€120) and laptop (€180) is perfect for general use, while those looking for faster computers with more storage can explore Plus (desktops €180 at and laptops at €240) and Pro options (desktops at €240 and laptops at €290).
