Meeting on the care of older people
Minister of State will address public meeting on issues of concern to elderly
The Minister of State at the Department of Health with special responsibility for Mental Health and Older People, Jim Daly TD, will address a public meeting on the Care of Older Citizens in The Lisdoo on Tuesday, April 24th 2018 at 8pm.
The meeting, which is being hosted by Councillor John McGahon, will also be addressed by guest speakers including Marie Hayes Development Manager with County Louth Citizens Information Service, Saidbe Mulligan Information Officer with Dundalk Citizens Information Centre and a representative from the HSE.
'Speaking in advance of the meeting, Councillor John McGahon said: 'This is a public event designed to raise awareness and help provide information on the care of our older citizens. I'm delighted that Minister Daly has agreed to come to Dundalk and host a public meeting on such an important topic. Everyone is welcome to attend on the night.
'The meeting will primarily focus on the Fair Deal Scheme, home care, the issue of loneliness amongst elderly people, Age Friendly Strategy. There will also be a Question and Answer session at the end,' he said.
