Man (19) is returned for trial
A 19-year-old man accused of murdering Dunleer teenager Cameron Reilly (pictured) has been returned for trial to the present sittings of the Central Criminal Court.
Aaron Connolly, Willistown, Drumcar, is charged with the murder of Mr Reilly (18), who was a first-year student at DkIT, at Shamrock Hill, Dunleer, on 26 May, 2018.
A book of evidence was served on the defendant last Wednesday morning, and a short time later Judge John Coughlan heard at Dundalk Court that the DPP consents to a return for trial.
Legal aid was granted to Aaron Connolly for a solicitor, barrister and senior counsel, and he was remanded on existing High Court bail.
The judge also made a Section 56 order, which relates to a copy of any recording of the questioning of the defendant by gardaí while detained at the garda station, or elsewhere, in connection with the investigating of an offence, being given to the accused or his legal representative.
