Jewellery valued at €3000 stolen

Dundalk gardai are investigating a break in to a house just off the Carrick Road last week, where jewellery valued at €3000 was stolen.

The burglary was reported to have occurred on Thursday afternoon last, when the homeowner returned to find the house broken into and jewellery missing.

Gardai are also investigating the theft of a substantial amount of copper cylinders and brass fixings from a business premises along the Inner Relief Road, during a break in on Wednesday last.

The theft is reported to have occurred between 1a.m and 4a.m. Any witnesses, or information relating to the break in's should contact gardai on 02 93 88400 or the confidential garda line on 1800 666 111.

Meanwhile, two people were taken to hospital following a single vehicle collision on the MI on Sunday afternoon.

The car was travelling north bound near Castlebellingham when it ended up in the central reservation. Three vehicles from the Fire Service attended.

The man and woman had non life threatening injuries.
