It was a hair raising moment for Logan and Lennix Cumiskey when they had their hair chopped off for charity Little Princess Trust.

The Bay Estate brothers, aged just four and five, were excited to see their once lengthy locks shorn off all in aid of a very special cause.

The charity, Little Princess Trust accepts donations of real hair which can then be made into wigs for children who have lost their hair as a result of illness or medical treatments.

Mum Serena explained that Lennix had never had his hair cut since he was born, and she had decided that when he did it was an opportunity to 'make it count.'

Having talked to the little ones, she said they both were ready to have their long locks cut.'

'When we explained to them how their hair could help little children who are sick, they were really happy to get it done.'

The family also used the opportunity to raise funds for the Cara Cancer Care centre, and so far have around €1,000 to donate, but are expecting further donations to come in.
