Four receive Order of Cuchullain honour at awards ceremony

CHIEF Scout of Ireland, Michael John Shinnick at the local St. Patrick's Scout Group awards night spoke about the dedication and commitment of leaders in the group which was a vital ingredient of the growth that the Group has experienced in the last number of years.

The Chief Scout then conferred three members of the Group with the Order of Cuchullain, the highest award that can be bestowed on a leader.

Frank McArdle, Michael Crawley and Jack Cumiskey were worthy recipients with nearly 150 years of scouting experience between them.

Group leader, Fintan Sheridan said: 'It was a great honour to have three of our members bestowed with the Order of Cuchullain and indeed a fourth person connected with the Group, Sean McCooey was presented with it a number of weeks ago.

' It goes to show the work and effort that the leader team are putting in to the local Group as so many of my leaders got awards tonight.

'A big thank you to them all, and to Andrew for organising such a successful night.'
