Dundalk's best star at Fleadh
Host of local performers to play key roles
The cream of Dundalk's musical talent will showcase their class to thousands next week at this year's Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann.
Although Drogheda will be the key location, performers from around the county are set to take the event by storm.
Brothers and All Ireland instrumentalists Sárán Mulligan (concertina) and Tadhg Mulligan (fiddle/bouzouki), from Árd Easmuinn will perform with Damien Dempsey at Saturday's opening show in the Dome while the remarkable Zoe Conway will star with the RTE Concert Orchestra as part of Sunday night's main show at the same venue.
And after that, it's the likes of fiddler player Noreen Matthews, Donal and Gerry O'Connor, Barry Kieran and Kern and the Creative Arts Centre at DkIT who will feature prominently in the week long event.
The DkIT Chamber Ensemble will light up the Augustinian Church on August 17 and the closing concerts will feature the Oriel Trad Orchestra and Nos Nua.
