Dundalk bookie leads the style stakes at Galway
Dundalk bookie Marcella McCoy emerged as a style icon at the Galway Races last week, as she lit up the track with a series of stunning outfits and head pieces.
One of only a handful of female bookies in the country, the lifetime racing fan is now a serious contender in the industry, having worked hard to get a slice of the action at racing meets across Ireland, north and south.
'There was an incredible buzz all week, even if the weather wasn't great at times' said Marcella.
Interviewed by 'Live At The Races' which was broadcast across Ireland and the UK, she said she was thrilled to have featured on the influential TV show.
'Galway is the jewel in the Irish horseracing calendar so it was great to see it getting so much publicity not only here but in England too.'
Marcella even managed to make the front page of several national newspapers during the week. with her eye catching choice of daily outfits.
'There was quite a lot of preparation beforehand, but I was really lucky to have found some fabulous pieces in local boutiques including Ruby Nu. My head dresses were all created by Elizabeth Tumilty of FeatherHead design.'
Also keeping her tip-top shape was Joanne Woods beautician and make-up artists Rosie Kirk.
'I want to thank stylist Caroline McElroy from Dundalk for all her support as well during the week,' added Marcella, whose eye for style even saw her scoop one of the 'Best Dressed' prizes at the world famous races.
