Charity dog walk to raise funds for new rescue centre

Dundalk Dog Rescue's fundraising dog walk along the Carlingford Greenway on Sunday morning was a huge success.

Happy dogs, many of them rescues which had been rehomed thanks to the efforts of Dundalk Dog Rescue volunteers, and their owners gathered at Carlingford braved the elements on Sunday morning for a walk to raise funds for the animal welfare charity.

A spokesperson said that the over €800 has been collected so far.

'Thanks to everyone for all their support on a wet and windy morning. A great amount raised for all the dogs in our care and towards our new home.'

The walk was one of a number of events in the campaign to raise funds for a new purpose built kennels and rescue centre, as well as towards the ongoing costs of looking after dogs in their care. At the moment, Dundalk Dog Rescue have 30 dogs in their care.
