Crash claims life of Moya (83)

GARDAÍ are appealing for information after an 83-year-old woman died on Saturday when her car was in collision with another vehicle near the Ballymac Service Station on the Dundalk- Carlingford road.

Moya McNally (née Clarke), pictured right, of New Road, Bellurgan, died in the accident, which happened around 6.25pm on Saturday.

Two women from the Newry area, a 61-year-old woman and her 19-year-old daughter, who were travelling in another vehicle, were badly injured in the crash. They were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where their injuries have been described as 'serious, but not life-threatening'.

Mrs McNally, who was a sister of the late legendary Dundalk theatre producer, Tommy Clarke, was a former employee of PJ Carrolls and was predeceased by her husband, Hugh. She is survived her brother Eddie (Clarke), sister-in-law Noreen, nieces, nephews and large circle of relatives and friends.

Reposing at Dixons Funeral Home, Maxwell Row, Bridge Street, Dundalk on Tuesday evening from 7pm until 9pm. Reposing at her residence from 3pm tomorrow ( Wednesday).

Removal takes place on Thursday morning at 10.30 a.m. to St. Nicholas' Church arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Mrs McNally's Month's Mind Mass will be offered up on Sunday January 6 2013 at noon in St Nicholas Church.
