Car sales continue to slide
The number of new cars registered in Louth last month fell once again, according to new figures from the Society for the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI)
A total of 342 new cars were recorded as sold, down 7.3% from 369 in February last year of 2018.
It has already been a difficult start to the new year, with January's sales total of 852 also down 2.9% from 877 a year earlier.
Traditionally the beginning of the year is the busiest time for car sales as buyers seek out the new yearly reg.
But sales for the first two months of 2019 are down 4.2% behind where they were this time last year.
In the first eight weeks of the year there have been 1,194 new cars purchased in Louth compared to 1,246 for the same period of 2018.
