She will be perhaps always best known as the lead singer of chart topping Dundalk band 'The Corrs.'

But Andrea Corr has added another string to her bow with the launch of her debut book 'Barefoot Pilgrimage.'

The musician and actress, who is originally from Ard Easmuinn delighted book lovers in The Marshes Shopping Centre last weekend when she signed copies of her new book.

Enchanting the large crowd gathered to meet her, Andrea joked with kids, laughed with locals, and smiled for the many cameras as she talked too about the honesty of the book which has been critically well received.

Barefoot Pilgrimage is billed as 'a compelling and honest memoir. In part, an exercise in coming to terms with and making sense of life and mortality following the loss of a beloved father; in part, a reflection on an unlikely journey with her siblings through the music industry; in part, a meditation on family, on music, and on creativity; and, in part, a shout-out for love and for hope.'

The book has also been illustrated with personal photographs and with original poems interspersed throughout.

It is certainly is a very personal account of the extraordinary life she has lived, from a childhood where she and her siblings were inspired by their musically gifted parents right through to their loss, and the challenges of starting her own family.
