Wonderful 50th celebrations for Rock Celtic

Blackrock Bulletin

Some of the club's legends and future stars mingled and had the opportunity to show off their skills.

The occasion was a fun day organised by Rock Celtic to mark the club's Golden Jubilee, having been formed back in 1969

The Golden Oldies held up their end, although they might have changed shape and appearance from their heyday. Certainly a number demonstrated they still possessed a lot of their old magic.

What they would give to turn back the clock to play on such a wonderful playing surface as the club plays on at Sandy Lane and to have such great facilities for training and changing rooms and a clubhouse at their disposal.

The Fun Day was the latest in a series of events that the club is hosting for their Golden anniversary.

This has resulted in a busy past week, with the club running their annual summer camp for young boys and girls, ranging in age from five to 13.

Next Friday the club is running a Golf day at the local Dundalk club, which provides another opportunity for present and former players and officials to meet up and share stories and compete on a more level basis.
