'Sundays in Spring' concert line-up unveiled
Speaking to members and friends of Carlingford Heritage CLG, Gerry McAlinden and Jerry McCarthy, Arts and Culture Sub-Committee members, unveiled the line-up for the fifth 'Sundays in Spring' concert series starting in April 2020.
The programme has been, as ever, put together in collaboration with Artistic Directors, Zoë Conway and John McIntyre. The 2020 Series brings a combination of established favourites and first time appearances - local and national names - Andy Irvine, Steve Cooney and Dermot Byrne, The Sands Family, the Manning Trio all the way from Ravensdale and our much loved operatic trio, Aris Nadirian, Roisin Bradley and Brian Connor.
This fifth edition is both eclectic and ambitious and includes a variety of musical acts - traditional Irish, classical, world and folk music.
Chairman of Carlingford Heritage, Harry McCarthy, acknowledged the welcome contribution from Create Louth and Louth County Council. He said that concerts would not be a viable proposition for the Heritage Centre without the financial support from Create Louth. This makes it possible to attract world class quality artists, he said, and also to keep alive the rich cultural traditions of Carlingford Lough area.
The Sunday afternoon concert has become a familiar feature in the activities calendar of the town and surroundings. The 'Sundays in Spring' concerts provide a welcome alternative, much appreciated and enjoyable 'hour out' for locals and visitors alike, in the uniquely intimate surroundings of Carlingford Heritage Centre. What's on offer is an hour-long mini-concert running from 16.00 to 17.00 full of atmosphere and good vibes - a great way to embrace the Spring and close out Winter.
Season tickets are on special offer (€50 for all five concerts) as Christmas presents from Carlingford Heritage webiste. Tickets for individual events can also be purchased online at €12 (concession price €10). Concerts start at 4pm each Sunday.
