Recent deaths

Bernard Maguire, The Coastguards, 194 Point Road, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 17 March, 2019, peacefully, in the tender and dedicated care of his Coastguards family, having previously resided at St. Brigid's, Ardee. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed by his Coastguards family and wider circle of friends. Reposing at The Coastguards from 12 noon - 6pm on Monday. Removal on Tuesday at 10.15am, to St. Joseph's Redemptorist Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Reaghstown Cemetery.

Ian Browne, 5 An Cearnog, Castletown, Dundalk, whose death occurred suddenly at home, on 14 March, 2019. Cherished son of Sinéad and Paul. Ian will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his parents, brothers Ciaran and Paul, sisters Lisa, Christine and Sarah, grandparents Freda and Fra Browne, Kate and Johnny Eldershaw, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and a close circle of friends. Reposing at his home on Saturday and Sunday between 12 o'clock and 8pm. Removal on Monday afternoon at 2.30pm walking to St Joseph's Church Castletown, Dundalk, arriving for Funeral Mass at 3pm, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Briege Pepper (née Nugent), Lower Faughart, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 14 March, 2019, peacefully, surrounded by her family in the loving care of the staff of The Mater Private Hospital, Dublin. Beloved wife of Matt and dear mum of David and Louise. Predeceased by her parents Brendan and Annie (late of Hyde Park), Briege will be sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughter, sisters Sally, Esther and Rose, daughter-in-law Amanda, grandchildren Ethan and Ruby, mother-in-law May Pepper, nephews, nieces, extended family relatives, wonderful friends and neighbours. Reposing at her residence, Lower Faughart from 12 noon on Saturday. Removal on Monday morning to Saint Joseph's Redemptorist Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Dundalk.

Gerard Patrick Baldwin, Elm Park, Blackrock, whose death occurred on 13 March, 2019, peacefully, in Our Mother of Mercy Nursing Home, Newry, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Cecelia (nee McMahon), son of the late William and Kathleen (nee Kieran) and dear father of Liam (England), Roisín (New York), Catharine (Dundalk), Anna (Texas), Vincent and Gerard. Predeceased by his brother Liam and sister Anna. He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Linda and Donna, son-in-law Gerard, grandchildren Ronan, William, Rebecca, and Isobel, brother Frank (Cheshire), sister Olivia (Blackrock), brothers-in-law Gerard Dorian (Blackrock) and Peter McMahon (Birmingham), sister-in-law Christine (Stoke-on-Trent), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Quinn's Funeral Home, Bridge Street, Dundalk, from 4pm-8pm on Saturday. Removal on Monday at 10.15am, to St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Fursey's Cemetery, Haggardstown.

Aidan Brennan, Lannett, Corcreaghy, Dundalk, and Carrickmacross, whose death occurred on 11 March, 2019, peacefully at his residence. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his close family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at the residence of his niece Martina Corrigan, Reaghstown on Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm, and on Thursday from 2pm to 9pm. Removal on Friday morning to St. Enda's Church, Killanny arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Private Cremation afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium.

Maura Thornton (née McGarrity), Willville, Carlingford, whose death occurred on 13 March, 2019, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Louth County Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommy, sister Margaret and brother Peadar. Very deeply regretted by her loving daughters Carmel, Ailish and Sinead, her sons Sean and Gary, daughters-in-law Jacinta and Cynthia and sons-in-law Colm, Des and Colm. Grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sisters Rose, Teresa, Kathleen, Betty and Eileen, bothers Patsy, Michael and Gerard, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at the residence of her son Gary from 7 - 10pm this Wednesday evening and from 2 - 10pm Thursday. Removal on Friday morning at 10.15am to Saint James' Church, Grange, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.00am and burial afterwards at adjoining cemetery.

Anna Kavanagh, Sandygrove, Blackrock, whose death occurred, peacefully at home, on 12 March, 2019. Anne much loved and adored daughter of Kevin and the late Olive (née Hickey), and dear sister of Susan. Deeply regretted by her father, sister, brother-in-law Harry, nephew Zach, relatives and many friends in Blackrock Choir and the HSE In the Louth County Hospital. Reposing at McGeough's Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street from 3pm until 7pm on Thursday. Removal on Friday morning at 10.40am to St. Fursey's Church, Haggardstown, arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Christina McKenna (née O'Toole), Annaghs, Knockbridge, whose death occurred on 12 March, 2019, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Reposing at her residence from 8pm on Tuesday until removal to St. Mary's Church, Knockbridge on Thursday, 14 March, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Christina, beloved wife of late Charles, much loved mother of late Eddie, Rita Murphy, Owen, Bernadette Sweeney and Dermot, sister Mary Brady (Cavan), grandchildren and other relatives.
