Dundalk woman Rebecca McDonald inspired her toe tapping colleagues at Prometric to 'Shut up and Dance' for the Irish Cancer Society!

Rebecca organised the dance session as a fundraiser for Today's 'Dancer for Cancer last week, and raised a cool €2,600.

Prometric staff went viral as they took to the lobby of the Finnabair firm to kick up their heels to chart topping anthem - Shut Up and Dance.

The event was one of a series taking place around the country for the campaign.

Rebecca organised the local fundraiser, having faced her own diagnosis and treatment in her early 20s.

She bravely shared her story of being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphona, and the battle she faced to overcome the disease.

After six years she is now cancer free, and determined to raise awareness of the condition.

'The past couple of weeks have been completely overwhelming since my story was shared both locally and nationally,' she told the Argus.

'The support I have received has been amazing and the donations to myself and the team have surpassed our expectations'

'We had about 35 people dancing with us on the day to a routine choreographed by Larry Torris from Felda and have raised over €2,600 for the Irish Cancer Society.'

'It was a fantastic experience and I would love to do it every day if I could!
