Shrove Tuesday was marked in traditional style in St Patrick's Parochial House with lots of tasty pancakes served for a fund raising event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Cooks Rose Bailey and Mary O'Hanlon were kept busy with lots of people dropping in to enjoy freshly made pancakes.

In fact, such was the turnout that they had to send out for extra supplies of flour and eggs to meet the demand for the homemade pancakes!

The now annual event was organised with the assistance of Katie Bailey and volunteers from The Hub, St John of God, Jocelyn Street.

A raffle was also held and and the event raised a whopping €1,254 for the Irish Cancer Society to help with their work providing information, advocacy and support to those affected by cancer and funding research to coincide with cancer awareness month in March.

It was a flipping great event!
