The local entrants who have qualified for the Eastern Finals of the Junk Kouture fashion competition have been announced.
Seven schools have been selected to take part in the competition which takes place on March 2 in the Helix Theatre.
The designs, all created from recycled materials, are Street Sleeper from Bush Post-Primary School; Coco de Eco, It's a Gamble, and Roaring 2020, all from Colaiste Ris' Fem Power from Dundalk Grammer School, while St Vincent's Secondary School is represented by Keep Me Posted and Burst of Colour.
Local entrants who didn't qualify from the heats, still have a chance to make it to the semi-finals though the on-line voting which will see five entries from each region getting a place in the semi-finals.
This year sees the competition marking its tenth anniversary, and thanks to a new partnership with RTE, RTÉ 2FM's podcast queens, Laura Fox and Emma Power, hosts of popular Unlocked with Laura and Emma, present the Junk Kouture regional events and grand finale, while RTÉ 2FM DJ, Tara Stewart will provide the party atmosphere on the night, unleashing her musical prowess on the decks and on stage at 3Arena.
