Local clerical appointments

A number of local priests will be taking up new appointments following an announcement by Archbishop Eamon Martin last week.

The popular Parish Priest of Carlingford and Omeath, V Rev Brian Mac Raois, PP, VF, is retiring to become be PE, AP, Kilkerley and Knockbridge.

His position will be filled by Rev Brian White, CC, Haggardstown & Blackrock, who will take over as Parish Priest of Carlingford and Omeath from September 1st.

In turn, Rev Aidan McCann, CC, Dungannon, is being appointed as curate for the parish of Haggardstown and Blackrock.

Rev Patrick Rushe, CC, Kilkerley, is moving Monasterboice where he will serve as Parish Priest.

Archbishop Eamon Martin thanked the priests and deacons of the Archdiocese for their continued ministry and service and wishes well those who are taking up these new appointments. He also thanked the people of the Archdiocese of Armagh for their ongoing prayers and support of their clergy. He encouraged them to welcome their new pastors in the coming weeks.
