Host of events at the Drogheda library

As part of Seachtain na hÉigse at the Fleadh Cheoil,  the following talks & symposium  will be held in Drogheda library. Admission is free.  Tuesday 13th August 12 noon.

We were the Champions - Celebrating the All-Ireland Winning Siamsa Céilí Band, presented by Dr. Adele Commins, Head of Department of Creative Arts, Media & Music . Tuesday 13th August  2 pm

Take the Floor, Big, Little and Small presented by Helen Brennan on the 20th anniversary of her publication The Story of Irish Dance. Wednesday 14th August 2 pm

The Usher Family - Traditional Music and Song from Tenure Co. Louth presented by Jim McArdle (right). Thursday 15th August 2pm

Éigse Oirialla , 50 bliain d'aois le Éamonn Ó Uallacháin. Friday 16th August 1.30 pm -4pm

Culture and Community A symposium presented in association with the Creative Arts Research Centre at Dundalk Institute of Technology. Celebrating the experiences of people involved in Comhaltas through generations and how they have experienced a sense of community surrounding their musical lives. Further lectures for Seachtain na hÉigse take place at Highlanes Gallery on Saturday 17th August & Sunday 18th August .See official Fleadh timetable for details.

Memories of 2018 Memories of Drogheda Fleadh 2018 - stunning images capturing some wonderful moments during last year's Fleadh. Can be viewed during library opening hours. Also Cúchulainn Celtic Strings - Live performance at Drogheda Library on Saturday 17th August at 11 am . Cúchulainn Celtic Strings is a group of talented young musicians who play and promote traditional music under the direction of Noreen McManus. They are  winners of Louth PPN Award for Arts & Culture 2018.  Admission free.
