'Every Day Counts' at O'Fiaich College

Students who believe that 'every day counts' were rewarded for their good attendance at O'Fiaich College recently.

In the seven weeks before Christmas, the school ran its 'Every Day Counts' campaign, monitoring students' attendance daily and setting classes against each other to set the best attendance record.

At a recent presentation, students with good attendance or who improved their attendance were rewarded with certificates and other goodies, while those who achieved 100 per cent attendance were entered into a draw to win an iPad. Those who registered good attendance saw their names put in the hat for a €100 Marshes Shopping Centre voucher, sponsored by Noeleen Halpin, Dundalk Court Clerk, and Dundalk gardaí.

Superintendent Gerry Curley of Dundalk Gardai spoke at the attendance awards ceremony about the importance of going to school every day for future life prospects and taking control of your life.

The winner of the iPad was John McCormack and the winner of the €100 voucher was Kenny Joyce.
