Eve launches Town2Town fundraiser
The annual cycle from Dundalk to Tralee in its fourth year now under the stewardship of local Dromiskin man Jonny McGailey was launched by Paralympian Eve McCrystal this week.
The cycle sets off on August 17th and this year they are raising money for Make-A-Wish Ireland, Anamcara, The North Louth Hospice & SOSAD.
To date the cycle has managed to raise just short of €60,000 in three years for other charities including Alzheimers Association of Ireland, Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association, Friends of A and Donal Walsh #LiveLife.
Cycling almost 400km in two days there are almost 70 cyclists ready and willing with a support crew in tow they are ready to take on this huge challenge once more. Jonny said: 'We hope that by putting ourselves through the pain of the saddle we can give back to so many so we really do appreciate all the support and generous donations.'
Cyclists are coming from San Francisco, London and all over Ireland to take part and Jonny has been blown away how big the event has grown. 'We started with six cyclists and not a clue what we were doing in 2015 and it's just gone from strength to strength,' said Jonny.
If you would like to sponsor the cyclists in any way you can do so by checking out the Facebook page Town2Town and click link the link to the GoFund Me page to donate to the four nominated charities.
