Fitness and healthy eating should start at a young age. That's the message children at five Dundalk schools have been taught at a recent 'Fit Squad' interactive health and fitness session, delivered by Irish fitness expert, Tom Dalton.

Local participating schools were St. Mochta's National School Louth Village; St. Malachy's Girls School, Anne Street; Dun Dealgan National School, Jocelyn Street; Rampark National School and Kilsaran National School, Castlebellingham.

Organised by Dundalk-based banana importers Fyffes, over 600 pupils from second to sixth class took part in the active workout, which included talks and tips on healthy eating, all designed to improve children's general fitness through engaging and fun-filled activities.

Schools and sports clubs interested in participating in the project are asked to visit www.fyffesfitsquad.ie
