Dundalk Dog Rescue (DDR) hosted a hugely successful 'Paws in the Park' despite the wet weather leading to a few soggy pooches!

Dogs and their owners braved the elements to take part in the fundraiser for DDR's plans to establish a purpose built rescue centre in the Dundalk area.

A spokeswoman for the charity said 'We had a very successful 'Paws in the Park' despite the wet weather. We would like to thank all the volunteers on the day especially the Petsate crew who also supplied the goodie bags for the dog show. Everyone who donated bottles, Soft toys and buns and other bits…and to everyone who turned up to support us on the day.

Special thanks to Joanne from Problem Paws for the Agility Course, Bobby and Jerome from The Food House, The Home bakery, Sunray bakery, McNamee's bakery, The Order of Malta, Sean Kenny, photographer, for the photo shoot prize, Ciara Craven for the hamper, Maxine Murphy from Doggy Day Spa, Martina Boyd Face Painting, O'Dowd Veterinary for the dog bed prize and Marie Gorham for the fantastic photos!'
