DkIT takes to road on school visits

A team from Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) visited a number of schools across the North Leinster-South Ulster region last week to speak about the benefits of higher education and to showcase life at DkIT.

This was part of College Awareness Week, a national campaign which aims to promote the benefits of going to college, to help students of all ages to become college-ready and to showcase local role models.

Diarmuid Cahill, the Schools Liaison Officer at DkIT leads the schools outreach programme at the Institute.

'Higher education opens up new doors for students across our region,' he said. 'According to the latest graduate survey, 94% of our graduates are recorded to find employment or enter further study within 9 months of graduates. Higher education provides them with the opportunity to have exciting careers and enables them to bring new skills and new ideas to employers across our region.'

School visits and campus tours can be arranged via the college Schools Liaison Office. All enquiries should be made via schoolsliaison@dkit.ie.
