Faughart: Coffee mornings - A Coffee Morning in aid of your local hospice will take place in Kilcurry Resource Centre on Sunday 22nd Sept from 9.30am to 1pm.

Helena & Pat O'Connell are hosting a Coffee Morning in aid of North Louth Hospice Foundation at their home in Mountpleasant Thursday 19th Sept 2019. A warm welcome awaits you when you come for a coffee, chat and a stroll around the garden. Take the Ravensdale exit from the Ballymascanlon roundabout and follow the signs.

Margaret Cunningham will host a National coffee morning event on Thursday 19th Sept from 9am onwards in her home 13 Fatima Park. Please come along and bring a friend and enjoy coffee, tea, goodies and a bit of craic. Raffle held on the day.

Thanks to all who supported the All Ireland ticket raffle and those who sold tickets. Lucky winner of 2 tickets for Dublin v Kerry replay was Andy Connolly. Second and third prizes of a Meal for 2, went to Patsy Hughes and Peter Byrne. Club tickets went to Michele Mulholland and David Fitzgerald. They play at home this Friday evening in the semi-final at 7.00pm.The U16 girls won by 5-11 to 0-9 in the championship against Stabannon Kevins and this Wednesday play away to Cooley at 6.30pm. The U14 girls also had a great win beating Wolfe Tones 8-18 to 3-3. They play in the C Shield Final against Barrs Dreadnots on Saturday September 28. The U12 girls team won their semi-final away to Wolfe Tones 3-5 to 3-4 on Thursday last. The Quigley sisters Yvonne and Voureen were honoured in Croke Park on Sunday last with the Monaghan Ladies team that played Waterford in the All Ireland Ladies Senior Final of 1994.

This group meet this Thursday from 6.00pm to 8.00pm in the Community Centre.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal

To mark the opening of the school mass will be celebrated in the church at 9.30am this Friday morning and also a class prayer service at 11.15an for First class along with junior and senior infants.

The Annual Triduum in honour of St Therese of Lisieux takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception from Sunday September 29, to Tuesday October 1. Holy Mass each evening at 7.30pm, confessions on October 1, at 6.00pm with veneration of relic and blessing of rose petals after mass.

50th Anniversary

St Marys School in 2019/2020, will celebrate 50 years in its current location. An open invitation is extended to all past pupils, staff members and parents to attend a celebration on Friday, September 27, beginning with mass at 11.00am. New Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Armagh Michael Router will celebrate the special mass in the church and this will be followed by music, song, dancing and memories in the school. Refreshments and finger food will be provided in Halla Setanta.

Congratulations

We send congratulations to Aoife and Eimear Byrne and Dearbhla O Connor who members of the victorious Louth Ladies football team that had convincing win over Fermanagh in the Junior All Ireland final at Croke park last Sunday. The girls are valued members of St. Mochtas ladies team ad with the commitment they have given to the game they deserve this ultimate honour. The club travelled in great numbers to cheer the girls and all enjoyed their outing. Again on behalf of all from St. Mochtas we congratulate the girls.

Due to unforeseen circumstances St. Mochtas draw has been put back to October 5th. Tickets are currently on sale price €20 and there are great prizes up for grabs.

We also send congratulations to Paul Duff to has being picked for the Irish Bowls team which will be competing in the tri nations competition at a later date. The bowls club have resumed and are playing their league games. We wish them well for the coming season.

Vintage Club get ready

The Louth vintage club are getting organised for their Seamus Quinn vintage car and tractor run which takes place on the 29th September in Louth village. The run will start from the Church Car Park at one p.m. Registration is from 12.00 noon. This run is in memory of former valued member of the club Seamus Quinn who died suddenly in March 2018. All proceeds are going to the Neonatal Intensive care. We hope the weather stays kind and they have a successful day for they deserve it with all the work they have put in to make the day the success they hope for.

Boil notice

There is still no information coming from anyone about the boil water notice and at this stage you would think either Irish water or the Louth County Council would give some information regarding the situation.

Slow down

We have been asked to appeal to alert all large vehicles who use the Mullacrew road from Sharkeys pub to Kierans Cross to slow down or if possible to use the Bannons cross to Kierans Cross road as it is too narrow for large vehicles to pass each other.

Shelagh

Great win

The U16 Kilkerley/Naomh Malachi girls team had a superb win over the Geraldines last Wednesday evening in Pairc Chaoimhin Naofa in the Under Sixteen Division One Final. The final score was Kilkerley/Naomh Malachi 1-13, Geraldines 1-7. Congratulations to our three local players, Caoimhe Daly, Sarah Lawrence and Bronagh Cowan who were part of the winning team. Well done to all.

The U16 Kilkerley/Naomh Malachi boys team played the Brides last Friday the 13th September in Pairc Emmiti grounds in the U16B Championship Group 1 Knockout game. The local combination put in a great performance from the very start and finished on top. The final score was Kilkerley/Naomh Malachi 2-20, St Brides 3-12. The semi-final will be played this Friday evening the 20th in Kilkerley and our boys will be playing the winners of the Oliver Plunketts vs Roche game.

Congratulations to the Kilkerley under 12 girls who reached the Division 2 final with a hard fought 1 point win against the Wolf Tones last Thursday the 12th September. Well played Amy, Aoibhin, Cailin, Jessica & Treasa.

Mals lotto

The Naomh Malachi lotto numbers drawn on September 8th were 1, 6, 10 and 16. There were no Jackpot winners and there were no match 3 winners. Next lotto jackpot will be €5,100, draw will take place in Naomh Malachi GFC on the 22nd September 19. Thanks to all who support the club lotto.

Congratulations

We would like to congratulate the Louth Ladies team on their fantastic win over Fermanagh last Sunday in the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship Final in Croke Park. A special mention to our local player, Sinead Woods, who is a member of the Louth Ladies team. Well done Sinead.

Underage training for under 6 to under 12s continues this Tuesday @ 7pm in the Naomh Malachi pitch and will continue every Tuesday evening at 7pm.

The local ladies club is back on this Wednesday in Naomh Malachis GFC at 7.30pm. All new members are very welcome.
