Kilkerley Lourdes Committee have 3 young girls going to Lourdes as Youth Workers. The girls are holding a fundraiser to raise the money for their fares. They are opening a Pop Up Shop in the Longwalk Shopping Centre from February 11 to February 16. The first two days are for setting up so the shop opens on Wednesday, February 13. Donations of clothes, shoes, books, toys or anything that would sell in a Pop Up Shop greatly appreciated as would anyone that give an hour or two of their time in the shop as it takes four people to cover each shift. If you could help out in any way please contact the committee. This year we are in a position to assist with the costs involved and are offering 2 fully paid fares to anyone who is or has been ill. Condolences to Josie Martin and family Rathmore on the death of her husband George who was laid to rest in Kilkerley Cemetery on Sunday last, to Madge and Mickey Byrne and family Milltown, on the death of their son David who was laid to rest in Kilkerley Cemetery on Wednesday last, also to Annemarie and Brian Finnegan and family, Cortial on the death of Brian's uncle, Noel Casey, Clontarf, who was laid to rest in Julianstown Cemetery on January 17, last.
Kilkerley Emmets lotto Jackpot of €3,300 in Week 25 of last year was not won, so when Lotto Draw resumes on Tuesday, February 19, the Jackpot will be €3,400. Funds from the lotto help with the weekly running costs of the club. Thanks to all who continue to support the club lotto over the years and those that promote and assist at draw each night.

Kilkerley Bowls Club AGM took place on Wednesday, January 30, and the following were elected for 2019. Chairman-Tom McCreesh; Vice-chairman-Donal Quigley; Secretary-Sean Duffy; Treasurer-Peter Rust; Team Selecters-Alice Lennon, Donal Quigley and Eugene Callan. Chairman Tom Mc reesh thanked everyone for help and support and wished the club the best for next season. The Club also held a Fundraiser tournament that included four clubs,Daver, Geraldines, Greenhills and Kilkerley in what was an enjoyable tournament win by Kilkerley. The Club donated 200 Euro's to the Maria Goretti Children's Respite Center Lordship for there incredible work they do and we hope that will be of help. Bowls continue in the Community Centre from 7.45pm each Wednesday night. New members welcome.

There was sadness in the area at the news of the death of Ebbie Conlon, Artoney, Louth peacefully in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda last Saturday 2nd February. Ebbie was predeceased by her husband Kevin and her beloved son Kevin only six weeks ago. She is survived by her son Michael her daughter Ann grand children Padhraic and Caoimhe her husband Conor great grand son Michael and son In Law Pat McArdle, sisters in law, cousins nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Ebbie was a person you loved to have in your company and her families welfare was her main interest in life. She was a very knowledgeable person good natured person always there to lend a hand when needed. Her popularity was very much in evidence at her funeral on Sunday evening and funeral Mass which took place last Monday to The Church Of The Immaculate Conception Louth.
Ebbie will be sadly missed by all who knew her but especially by her family and friends to whom we send our deepest sympathies.
The new Louth village Community Hub is now open for parties and functions, concerts or similar events. The refurbished hub is state of the art and is a credit to the hard working committee. They are hoping to have an official opening on Sunday March 3r. Anyone who has not already seen the hub will be delighted and amazed at its transformation. Anyone wanting to book the hub can phone.
St Mochtas 50/50 fund raising is up and running and last weeks winner for the 27th January was Gino Wilson who won €350. These tickets can be bought in all shops and pubs in the village of of any committee member. Chairman Paul Murtagh tells us tickets for the clubs victory dance in Darver Castle on the 9th of March are currently on sale at €40 each. Numbers are limited so it would be wise to get them as soon as possible. Again any committee member or secretary Liam McGrenaghan can be contacted.
St. Mochtas Ladies A.G.M. took place last Friday night when their successful previous season was discussed. We congratulate the players selectors management and committee on their success. The meeting which was well attended and all agreed that the coming season can be every bit as successful and we wish them well as they deserve it for the effort they put in. There then followed the election of officers and these were as follows, Chairwomen Julie Murtagh Vice Chair Niamh Kirk, Treasurer Angela Devlin, Assistant Jackie Kieran, Secretary Niamh Hoey Assistant Secretary Aoife Byrne P.R.O. Naomh Malachi & Ireland Lights Up
Naomh Malachi are now on board with Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Thursday from now until - 21st February 2019 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Registration takes place each night from 7pm.
All current members welcome to take part, and any non current members from within community can of course get registered and participate in this fun activity. Please speak with any committee member in relation to membership registration.
The fantastic Irish folk band, All Folkd Up will be appearing in Naomh Malachi GFC clubrooms on Saturday 23rd February. This brilliant band are just back from touring in the United States and are sure to be a highlight of our social calendar to have them in our club!

Scoil Rince Móna Ní Rodaigh have re-commenced Irish dancing classes. The classes will be on every Saturday morning from 10.00 am-11.30 am in Naomh Malachi GFC and will continue on a weekly basis. All welcome from local community and surrounding areas (Cullaville, Crossmaglen, Kilkerley, Inniskeen, etc) to attend regardless of experience. Boys and girls from aged 4 upwards! Anybody looking to get their children involved in a new cultural pastime over the winter months, this is a great opportunity to do so.
