Faughart - Coffee morning: Roche Ladies Christmas Coffee Morning takes place on Sun 9th Dec from 9.30am in Resource Centre. There will be a fantastic raffle on the day and lots of baked goodies to enjoy and a stall with pre loved books. Activities for the kiddies. Please come along and support the girls, you will enjoy yourself!!!

Social Dancing

Next dance is on Wednesday, December 26 St Stephen's Day with music by Michael Mawhinney. Dancing 9pm to 12am. Light Supper will be served.

Variety Show

Parish Variety Show will be on in Kilcurry Community Centre on Sunday 16th December at 7pm, in aid of Parish funds.

Admission €10 adults, €5 children.

We will be holding a raffle and are asking parishioners and local businesses to please donate raffle prizes and vouchers.

Yoga Classes

The annual Christmas party for senior citizens takes place this Sunday, December 16, at 2.00pm in the Community Centre.

Dancing

Dancing in the Community Centre continues this Sunday night December 16, with music by Liam Mannering. Dancing from 9.00pm to midnight. The next dance is on Sunday, January 6, with music by Brian McDermott, Twice Shy play on January 13, Showbud play on January 20 and Curtis Magee on January 27.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m. Please pray for Paddy Whelan, Willow Grove, Olive Kelly, Dundalk, Michael Brennan, Ballybarrack, Basil Quigley, Baileboro, Peadar Hamill, Lisdoo, Monica Callan, Dundalk, Ann Smyth (nee Monahan) Carrick Road, Dundalk, who died recently. Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month at 10.00am mass. Confession will take place after 6.00p.m Mass on Saturdays and before Mass on First Fridays. The Church Choir is looking for more members so please contact Fidelma Bellew or the priests. Best wishes to parishioners who are hospitalised or unwell at home presently. As part of the St John Paul II Awards the liturgy for mass on Saturday evening December 22, will be organised by the young people participating. The mass this Sunday is the 'Do this in Memory Mass' for children preparing for first penance and first Holy Communion.

Lourdes Committee

Anyone interested in travelling to Lourdes on the Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage from 16th to the 21st May, 2019 are reminded that we are already making travel plans so please get in touch with any Committee member. This year we are in a position to assist with the costs involved and are offering 2 fully paid fares to anyone who is or has been ill. Cancer Society

The Irish Cancer Society is looking for volunteers in the Louth, Cavan, Monaghan and Meath areas to drive patients to and from their treatments in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda and the Dublin hospitals. Volunteer drivers will pick a patient up at the door of their home, drive them to the door of the hospital and then when finished treatment, pick them up and drop them home again. Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church followed by Benediction at 10.00p.m. Confessions are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request. The Finance Committee meet this Wednesday, December 12, at 8.00pm. Louth

Santa visit

Last Sunday Santa and Mrs Claus came to the village courtesy of A fire brigade and The Louth Vintage Club. The day started with a selection of stalls in the newly refurbished Community Centre which looked immaculate and people were amazed at the transformation. Next up was the festival of lights parade of tractors from the top of the village to the Hall. Then Santa arrived and the children were treated to face painting before meeting Santa and Mrs Claus. Even though there was a huge crowd there were presents for all. The Louth choir performed Christmas Carols to the delight of the crowd.

Teas coffees and savouries were served to the large crowd present.

There then were two draws all going to the Building fund fore the centre. The girl guides draw was first and the winners were Saiorse Quigley, Amelia Redmond, Katey Kelly Wilson and Shane Redmond. The draw was conducted by Mary McDonnell who tanked all the guides and boys for their great effort with the draw.

Community Centre draw

Then the community Centre draw took place and the winners were 1st Prize Patricia Faul, 2nd prize Susan Reynolds both Mullacrew. 3rd prize Toney Rooney Louth, 4th prize Pascal Larney Carrickmacross, 5th prize John Hannratty Channonrock and 6th prize went to James Murphy Mullacrew. Tickets were pulled by Santa Claus. Chairperson of the community Centre Committee thanked all who bought tickets for the draw and thanked their sponsors Gussie Kelly and Jamesy Watters. He congratulated the vintage club on a wonderful day and everything about it was a complete success.

Chairperson of The Vintage club thanked all who help make the day the success it was especially all the volunteers ,the stall holders and of Course Santa and Mrs Claus and of course the young elves. Also the face painter and the story teller. M. C. For the night was Michael Murphy who thanked all the vintage club committee on a very successfull day.

New manager

St.Mochtas ladies team are at the moment looking for a manager for the upcoming year. The team which have great potential had a very successful season having reached the semi final stages in both the league and championship and this year they would like to go a couple of steps further and take silverware back to the village.

The club certainly deserve success and we know the committee will leave no stone unturned to help the club achieve success. Anyone interested can contact club secretary Julia at 0879470443. We wish the club all the best for the coming season.

Christmas masses

This year Christmas Masses will be as follows. Christmas Eve Mass in Stonetown will be at 5pm and Louth Mass will be at 7.30pm. Christmas day Mass in Louth at usual time 10am.

New mass time for Shelagh Church continues every Sunday morning at 10.30am.

Irish Dancing

Scoil Rince Móna Ní Rodaigh have commenced Irish dancing classes. The classes will be on every Saturday morning from 10.00 am-11.30 am in Naomh Malachi GFC and will continue on a weekly basis. All welcome from local community and surrounding areas (Cullaville, Crossmaglen, Kilkerley, Inniskeen, etc) to attend regardless of experience. Boys and girls from aged 4 upwards! Anybody looking to get their children involved in a new cultural pastime over the winter months, this is a great opportunity to do so.
