Kilcurry Bowls Club

We are back to our usual Tuesday nights at 8pm. We always welcome people interested in trying bowling out.

Craft evenings

Craft evening on Tuesdays 7.30pm to 9pm. Everybody welcome to join us for crafting, cuppa and a chat.

Yoga classes

Yoga classes resume after the holidays. Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 8.15pm.

Friday mornings from 10am to 11.15am.

Social Dancing

Social Dancing in the Resource Centre this Saturday, January 12th dancing to Blue Magic from 9pm to 12am. Supper will be served. All welcome.

Kilkerley

Golf

Callans Golf Society, Philipstown have an outing to Mannan Castle Golf Club this Saturday, January 12, with Tee Time of 10.30am.

5K Run

January marks the start of RTE's Operation Transformation and as part of the launch, Louth Local Sports Partnership are looking to involve local GAA clubs, so Kilkerley Emmets are hosting a walk this Saturday, January 12, at 11.00am on the walking track around the club grounds. For health and safety reasons no dogs allowed in the grounds or on the walking track.

Dancing

Dancing in Kilkerley Community Centre on Sunday next January 13, with music by Twice Shy. Showbud play on January 20 and Curtis Magee on January 27. Dancing from 9.00pm to midnight.

Jive Classes

Beginners Jive classes take place Kilkerley Community Centre each Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm and also each Tuesday evening Pilates takes place in the Centre at 6.30pm. Contact 0851048491 for details.

Parish News

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m.

Please pray for Margaret Brady, Donaghmore, Olive Reid, Avenue Road, Dundalk, who died recently.

Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month at 10.00am mass. Confession will take place after 6.00p.m Mass on Saturdays and before Mass on First Fridays.

The Church Choir is looking for more members so please contact Fidelma Bellew or the priests.

Best wishes to parishioners who are hospitalised or unwell at home presently.

Epilepsy Ireland Annual Church Gate Collection takes place this weekend January 12/13.

During mass this Sunday all children who were baptised since last January will receive a special blessing and a certificate. Refreshments afterwards in the Community Centre.

The Baptism Team meet in the Parochial House, Knockbridge on next Tuesday night at 7.00pm.

The Finance Committee meet on Thursday night January 24, at 8.30pm in the Parochial House, Knockbridge.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the Church each Friday evening from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.

The Combined Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Wednesday, January 16, at 8.00pm in the Parochial House, Knockbridge.

Confirmation takes place on Friday, February15, at 11.00am.

Bowls continue in the Community Centre from 7.45pm each Wednesday night. New members welcome.

Badminton

Badminton for adults in the Community Centre on Monday nights from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. All over 18 welcome.

Tusla Child and Family Agency is urgently recruiting foster carers for children in Louth.

The Foroige Club continues each Friday evening at 8.00pm in the Community Centre as does Lady Birds and Girl Guides at 6.00pm and Brownies at 7.00pm..

Emmets GFC

The GAA National Club Draw tickets are on sale. Prizes include holidays, car, All Ireland Final tickets, vouchers. All proceeds from sales go to club funds. Tickets on sale from any committee member. Priced €10.

Membership fees for 2019 are now due and can be submitted at a registration night in the Community Centre on Friday, January 25, from 7.30pm.

Trocaire

This organisation is looking for new volunteers who will be Parish Ambassadors in the Armagh Diocese to help raise awareness of the challenges facing the world's poorest communities and the difference been made by support from Ireland. If you are interested please email volunteering@trocaire.org

Lourdes Committee

Anyone interested in travelling to Lourdes on the Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage from May 16 to May 21, 2019, are reminded that we are already making travel plans so please get in touch with any Committee member.

This year we are in a position to assist with the costs involved and are offering 2 fully paid fares to anyone who is or has been ill. We are also offering 6 half fares to anyone who wishes to travel as a pilgrim. Please ring Fr. Gerry Campbell on 9374125 or Kathleen McCreesh on 087 9117732.

Knockbridge

Parish News

Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church followed by Benediction at 10.00p.m.

Confessions are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request.

Louth

Congratulations

We send our congratulations and very best wishes to popular couple Donal Gernon and Rachel Riordan whose marriage took place in The Church of Immaculate Conception Louth on Monday 24th December (New Years Eve). The celebrant was Fr. Sean McArdle P.P. Louth. The Matron Of Honour was Laura Riordan and the bridesmaid was Naomi Killen. The best man was Daren Gernon whilst the duties of groomsman were performed by Stephan Sheilds. Shay McGlynn and Lucas Shields acted as Pageboys.

The reception took place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and all who attended really enjoyed themselves. Donal is the son of Stephen and Josephine Gernon, Tullycahon whilst Rachel who is from Dundalk is the daughter of Finbar and Ann Riordan from Dundalk.

The honeymoon will be in Orlando. We wish the happy couple many years of happiness and good health.

Vintage Club AGM

The Louth Abbey Vintage Club had an other very successful year and they will review their past year when they hold their A.G.M this coming Friday evening 11th January in the refurbished Community Hub.

The club would welcome all especially new members to the meeting. The club hold various events during the year and most of these involve the whole community and we wish them well for the coming year. The meeting commences at 8pm sharp.

Festive party

Last Sunday the Annual Parish Christmas Party took place and again there was a good turnout and all who attended rely enjoyed themselves and would like to thank the organisers for a most enjoyable party.
