Cuchulainn Gaels club news

The Cuchulainn Gaels lotto draw took place on Wednesday last, in Howes. There was a jackpot of €9,600 on offer but the numbers drawn, 8, 10, 16, 27 were not matched and the jackpot increases to €9,700 for this week's draw which takes place tonight, Wednesday January 22 at 7 pm in The Granvue. There were two 'match three' winners, Ciaran McDonald and Kieran Cunningham. They each receive €50.

Remember you can play in all local shops and businesses, through standing order or now online at Tickets are also on sale from committee members. All credit and debit cards are accepted.

Coaching Meeting: Cuchulainn Gaels are holding a coaching meeting on Wednesday 22 January at 8.30pm in The Dolmen Centre. This is open to anyone interested in coaching this year. Please pass the word.

The club is holding their Registration Night on February 7 at 7.45pm in The Dolmen Centre. We will be giving out Club rain jackets to all juveniles that register on the night. Membership fees for 2014 remain unchanged and are as follows: Juvenile €20, Adult €30 and Family €80 (max 2 adults).

In conjunction with Croke Park, Cuchulainn Gaels are taking part in the 'National Club Draw'. Tickets are priced at €10 and there are some fantastic prizes on offer including trips to Australia and America, along with cash prizes and shopping vouchers. Tickets can be bought from all committee members and from senior men and ladies players.

The Carlingford/Omeath branch of the Red Cross will hold their their premises at Monksland in Cooley on Tuesday January 28 at 8.30 pm.

Everyone is welcome


The next monthly dance organised in the St. Patrick's Centre at Lordship is on this coming Friday 24 January.

Dancing commences at 9.30 pm and continues until 12.30 pm The music is by Blue Magic. A light supper will also be served. The price of admission is €10 and all are welcome.


The Tain Walking Festival takes place in Carlingford and the Cooley Peninsula from Friday 28 February to Sunday 2 March.

The festival will offer geological walks, fascinating historical walks and a spectacular night walk. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the scenic Cooley mountains on this wonderful weekend of guided treks suitable for all grades of walkers.
