Caring Aileen Hearty was a beautiful and loving person

Obituary

Aileen Hearty, 325 Beechmount Drive, Dundalk, passed away on 14 February, 2019, at home in the loving care of her family.

A beautiful, loving, caring and kind daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Aileen leaves behind many lovely memories of her life with her family who will cherish them forever. No words can express the sense of loss that they feel.

She was the eldest daughter of Paddy and Helen. Aileen was born in Birmingham and moved to Dundalk when she was 3-years-old to Fr Murray Park, where her father, Paddy's family lived.

They moved to Beechmount Drive where the family have resided for nearly 50 years.

After attending Redeemer Girls' National School, Aileen went to St Vincent's secondary school to continue her education.

Aileen worked in Smack Dry Cleaners in the Dundalk shopping centre, before traveling to America to become an au pair. Aileen loved children, and on her return, looked after Shane and Sarah who she loved dearly.

She returned to education in later years and went on to sit her Leaving Cert, along with many other courses, and not long before being diagnosed with PSP Aileen completed a Legal Secretary course.

She loved socialising. Sadly, illness intervened and she wasn't able to do a lot of the things she enjoyed like reading, watching football and going to the cinema.

Aileen is survived by her father, Paddy; mother, Helen; sisters, Tracey and Kim; brother, Steven; nephews, Seán, Emmet and Daniel; nieces, Shannon and Olivia; brother-in-law, Colm; sister-in-law, Paula; uncles, aunties, cousins and close friends.

After reposing at her family home in Beechmount Drive, Aileen's remains were removed to the Redeemer Church where the funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Michael Sheehan.

The Readings were by nephew, Seán and family friend, Jessica. The Offertory was by sister-in-law, Paula and Aileen's friend, Margaret. Prayers of the faithful were led by Emmet, Sarah, Shannon and Seán.

Sister-in-law, Paula read a message from the Hearty family thanking all their neighbours in Beechmount Drive and friends for their great support and kindness at a difficult time.

A reflection poem was read my nephew, Emmet.

Beautiful music was provided by singer, Susan Dixon.

Burial took place afterwards in Saint Joseph's cemetery, Fatima.

The Month's Mind Mass for Aileen takes place at 11.30am on Sunday, 24 March in Redeemer parish church.
