Blood Transfusion clinics run
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) have issued their gratitude to the 389 donors who attended the recently held clinic in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and Clan Na Gaels GAA Centre.
The clinic welcomed 19 first time donors and 13 former donors back.
A spokesperson for the IBTS explained how vital blood donations are, with approximately 3,000 donations needed for over 1000 patients in Irish hospitals every week.
'One in four' people will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda required 2,466 units alone in 2016.'
