Arthur Mullen, Feede, Mountpleasant, Dundalk, who has died, was a widely respected local businessman. He passed away peacefully on 19 December, 2018, surrounded by his loving family in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Arthur was a kind, genuine and generous man who always had a story or joke to share, and his quick-witted one-liners are still told by many people.

To say he was an animal lover is an understatement. He loved all animals, dogs, horses, birds and everything in between.

His family is very appreciative of the care and support of the Beaumont and Lourdes hospitals, and of the help of all the neighbours and friends at this heart-breaking time.

Arthur’s family is going to miss him dearly. His decency, wisdom, and kind soul will stay with them forever.

He was the best father a son or daughter could ever have. Even in their grief, they smile knowing he is hugging his son, Patrick again. ‘Good night, and God bless.’

Arthur is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Yvonne, Adrian and Arthur; nine grandchildren, Jodie, Victoria, Alexandra, Dean, Megan, Anna-Mai, Zofia, Miki and Claudia.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mai; son, Patrick and brother, Mick.

The Month’s Mind Mass takes place at 6pm on Saturday, 19 January, 2018 in Jonesborough church.
