Around the districts: Cooley

An evening concert of original works and popular arrangements for the guitar by Pat Coldrick takes place at Annaverna House, Ravensdale, on this coming Saturday, March 9, commencing at 8pm.

Pat Coldrick's session work and classical appearances have earned him a reputation of being one of the finest and most versatile guitarists in Ireland. As well as his touring performances, he has appeared on National Radio and T.V. and studied with world renowned guitarists David Russell and Gabriel Esterellas. His music appeals to a wide cross section of music lovers. Proceeds of the concert are being given to Dulargy National School in memory of Edward Lenox Conyngham for all the support given to his family.

Host Families sought for Spanish Students

Irish Host Families are being sought for Spanish Students in the Carlingford, Omeath and Cooley areas. Host families should have children aged between 12 and 17. For further information please contact Karen at the following number 083 4836129.

Cooley's St. Patrick's Day Parade

Following on from the hugely successful St. Patrick's Day parade last year, the second annual parade is being organised at present and will take place on Sunday, March 17.

The parade will follow the same route as last year, starting at Bush, at 1pm and finishing at the Cooley Kickham's Fr. McEvoy Park. For further information please contact Eddie at 087-6494965.

Llandudno Summer Trip

The annual trip from the general North Louth area to Llandudno in North Wales takes place over three days, Friday July 26th, July 27 and July 28.

The group will stay in the Grand Hotel, Llandudno, and the cost will cover three nights B.& B., dinners, coach and boat.

Cul Camps in Peninsula

The following dates have been confirmed for the annual Kelloggs Cul Camps in the Cooley Peninsula.

First up is the St. Patricks camp which takes place from Monday July 1 until Friday July 5. The Cooley Kickhams camp ios from Monday July 29 until Friday August 2. The Kelloggs Cul Camp website is kelloggsculcamp.gaa.ie

Confirmation at Cooley

Confirmation will be celebrated in Cooley Parish on Tuesday March 12. It will take place in St. James' Church, commencing at 11am. The celebrant is Rev. Monsignor Colum Curry, Vicar General.
