Fashion designer Niamh is 'one to watch' in 2014
Local fashion designer Niamh O'Neill has been tipped as one of '14 names from Ireland to watch in 2014' by The Irish Independent.
According to the article: 'There's no skirting fame for fashion designer Niamh O'Neill. The NCAD graduate only launched her eponymous label two seasons ago. But her signature bow design already has got stylistas here in a twist. Now the Dunleer native, who got her big break at Diane Von Fürstenberg in New York, is tipped to go global after making her international runway debut in London in November.'
Niamh was voted 'Fashion Designer of the Year 2013' at the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards
She has big plans to expand her label this year and international buyers are already taking note. Having appeared in fashion shows in London and New York in 2013, Niamh has established relationships within the retail sector abroad, who are keen to buy in to her clean, elegant look.
'I am getting married in the spring to a Fermanagh man who works in Belfast. So I am going to be dividing my time between the studio in Dunleer and a new studio in Belfast,' Niamh told The Argus. 'It is perfect as it provides a great opportunity for growth and I am in the process of working with some stockists in the UK in the coming months.'
Her new Spring Summer 2014 collection combines precise cutting with luxurious Italian light weight wools, contrast leathers and structured French grosgrain, and incorporates pleating.
Niamh O'Neill is stocked in a number of exclusive boutiques throughout Ireland, north and south of the border including Emporium Kalu in Naas, Isobel in Limerick and Peel in Belfast.
Additional stockists for spring/summer 2014 will include Kilkenny on Nassau Street, Serendipity in Kilkenny and Candyplum in Co. Down.
