Tickets are €10 and will be on sale in the Clubrooms tonight Tuesday November 12, between 7.15pm and 8.30pm or will be available at the door on the night. Refreshments will be served.

As the season draws to a close we would like to thank anyone who contributed in any way throughout the year, including all sponsors of our very successful jersey sponsorship draw, which left the club fortunate to be able to purchase three new sets of jerseys for the club.

The U-21 football team had a good win over St Pats 5-13 to 1-6 on Friday night last. The Intermediate play-off final ended in defeat to St Mary's 0-15 to 1-10 so disappointment on narrowly missing out on promotion to senior league level, however the committee extends thanks to all players, management, sponsors and supporters for all your efforts.

The Annual General Meeting takes place in the clubrooms this Thursday night at 8pm with all members welcome and new members in particular will be welcome, and parents of the players are encouraged to also attend.


Congratulations to local hurler David Dunne, who has served the county team for 21 years, on winning his third Rackard All Star Award. David was presented with his Award at the All Star Football and Hurling Banquet held in Croke Park on Friday night last.

Mass for deceased members of I.C.A. will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13, at 7.30p.m. Families of deceased members would be especially welcome.

It's that time of year again when we start planning for the annual Lourdes Pilgrimage which will be held from May 12 to May 17, 2014. We are calling on youths from the parish who would like to travel on the pilgrimage as Youth Workers to get in touch with Fr. Gerry or Kathleen McCreesh. We are also taking names from those who would like to be considered as Assisted Pilgrims. All other intending Pilgrims can also put their names down.

There will be a National Church Collection on November 17, 2013 for Trocaire's humanitarian work in Syria. As part of this effort to help our brothers and sisters in Syria, Fr. Gerry Campbell PP, ran the Dublin City Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday coming in on a time of 3.33, in aid of Trocaire's Syrian Appeal. Congratulation and well done to him. Fr. Gerry is Trocaire's representative in County Louth. Sponsor cards should be returned asap.

Christmas cooking classes begin on Thursday, November 21, 'Christmas Baking' cake decorating, pudding, mince pies and Christmas treats cake and pudding, with raffle on the nite! November 28, is 'starters and desserts' also tips on the perfect turkey and suggestion on side dishes.

The Indoor Bowls season continues with the Club Singles League, which this year has the members in 4 Groups. Games in the Singles will conclude by November 27. Kilkerley Emmets men and ladies players are organising an end of season race night in Kennedys Bar, Dundalk this Friday, November 15, at 8 p.m. for all players, club members and supporters. You can sponsor races and horses in the virtual races, along with advertising space in the race guide. A fun night for all to mark the end of the season.

Mass of the Angels will be offered this Saturday, November 16, at 7.30 p.m. for little children who have died before birth or in infancy.

The collection during mass this weekend will go in total to Trocaire's humanitarian work in Syria, so just one collection and all going this worthy cause. PAYE workers and retired PAYE can assist parish funds by filling out a tax back form so as the tax back can go to the parish.

Forms are available in the Church Porch so please take one, fill in and return to Parochial House. The Parish benefitted by €15,000 from this scheme in the last year. The Parish of Darver-Dromiskin has now joined the Louth-Knockbridge-Kilkerley Pastoral Area.

Confirmation takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kilkerley on Friday, February 28 2014. A Special Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday week, November 17, at 7.30 p.m., for those who died since last November. Parishioners who lost a loved one from outside the parish will also be included in this Mass.

Please submit names to Fr. Gerry at earliest convenience. Light refreshments will be served in the Community Centre after Mass.



This is the time of year that all organisations are preparing for their AGM's and this year St Mochta's have decided the team management for next year should be put in place before Christmas.

The committee are asking all members of the club if they have a nominee they would suggest to contact the Chairman Eoin McDonnell or text the secretary Rachel Kindlon by the deadline of 4 p.m. on November 14 or any committee member.

This year St. Mochta's juvenile teams had a great season in all grades. This certainly bears well for the future of the club and we congratulate all players and mentors on their success. The club is always looking out for parents to help out with the running of underage teams and if anyone could give some time next year it would be more than welcomed.


The parish pastoral council is looking for new members and anyone who feels they could give an hour every month to attend the meetings would be more than welcome.

If any one is new to the parish and feel they would like to get involved in the parish please come along, you will be made more than welcome.

Next meeting is the first Monday in December at 7.30 in the meeting room of the Church. Parishoners from the Stonetown area especialy welcomed.

At a recent meeting of the Pastoral Area team it was decided to extend the area to now include the Parish of Darver/Dromiskin. The Vicar Forane remains Fr. Gerry Campbell as does the Chairperson remain the same Catherine Bannon.


We have being asked to remind everyone that there will be a special collection at Masses next weekend in aid of Syrian refugees and you are asked to be as generous as you can.


The Christmas party for the senior citizens of the parish and anyone who thinks they could help out should give their name to Fr. Quinn.

The healthy exercises incidentally will continue for the month of November and will be under the guidance of fourth year students from DkIT.

The Christmas Party Night will take place on Monday, December 9, with Billy Finnegan providing the entertainment. Starting time is 7.30 p.m. with meal at 8 pm.


Ladies Keep Fit Classes with Noel on Wednesdays from 8-9pm. Everybody welcome.


The next dance is on November 23 when we will have Shobud to keep us entertained.

Naomh Malachi GFC will hold their nominations night on Friday November 15 at 8.30pm in the clubrooms. Anyone wishing to make nominations or submissions should send them to Aine Lynch at The AGM will follow then on November 29. All new members very welcome.


Drama- Monday at 6.30pm. New members are welcome to join this class with our instructor Caireen. The group will put on a production of 'Mary Poppins' in the Spring of 2014. Cost of the class is €5 with concessions for families.

Zumba for kids will take place commence for four weeks commencing Thursday, November 14, at 6.30pm.

As an initiative to support improved fitness for our children and young people the club will offer a subsidised rate of only €2 per child/young person. The class will cater for those aged 6-16 years old. So come along and join in the fun on the evening.


Over 9s club takes place fortnightly with the next evening this Friday, November 8 at 7pm.

Thank you to all those who assisted with lifts to our previous outing to GR8 in Blaney. Twenty-seven young people were in attendance on the evening.

A text will be sent out during the week to all the senior members with details of what is planned for this week.


A date for your diary a Special Children's Christmas party will take place on Sunday, December 15, at 5 p.m. in the Youth Club.

There will be a Family Fun Magic/Puppet Show suitable for all ages, refreshments will be served and there will be a very special visitor on the day. Admission is free.

Every is very welcome to come along regardless of whether they currently attend the club or not. So spread the word to your neighbours, friends and family.

New members are always welcome at the Youth Club.
