Thin Az Lizzy to rock it up On The Hill

In recent times, the Lizzies have only appeared in town on a couple of occasions each year, but now things have changed and they have become more readily available to their local fans. Having appeared in every conceivable venue around town in their younger days, it was only a matter of time before those monsters of rock Thin Az Lizzy would appear in the Venue On The Hill, and yes, it is this Saturday night they’ll be bring their twin guitar sound to the uninitiated!

In recent times, the Lizzies have only appeared in town on a couple of occasions each year, but now things have changed and they have become more readily available to their local fans. As their popularity grew, the band had to play bigger and bigger venues and their trips to tour abroad got more regular, their ability to play on home turf became rarer.

But on Saturday night John Conlon bass and vocals, Willie Owens and Bernie Loughran twin lead guitars and Kevin McGuirk drums will be set to bring the house down with a collection of Thin Lizzy hits, the likes of which you just won’t believe.

Featuring heavily the songs from the now epic double live album ‘Live and Dangerous’ the lads play everything from the first big hit ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ all the way through to some of Phil Lynott’s solo songs before his untimely death, so hits like ‘Rosalee’, ‘Killer On The Loose’, ‘Jailbreak’, ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’, ‘Sarah’, ‘Johnny The Fox’, ‘Don’t Believe A Word’, ‘Waiting on an Alibi’ and the classic slow song ‘Still In Love With You’ are sure to feature.

With possibly two of the best lead guitarists in Willie Owens and Bernie Loughran playing together and the vocals left to John Conlon, this should be a real treat for all Lizzy fans everywhere.

The eclectic disco will feature DJs Alec and the multitalented Helen (whom I saw in action with a video camera at last week’s Jinx Lennon gig) bringing a mix of classic dance and non chart hits to the dancefloor afterwards, this should prove to be another exceptional night on The Hill.
