'Social History of Now' lecture
Local photographer Ken Finegan, whose photos appear in The Argus each week, is presenting a lecture entitled 'The Social History of Now' in the County Museum on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m.
Through his work as a newspaper photographer, Ken has covered most of the main historical events of the past 30 years. He also lectures in photography at O'Fiaich Institute of Further Education and since obtaining a BA (Hons) in Photography from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, and a Masters in Fine Art Photography from the University of Ulster, he has concentrated on developing his fine art photographic practice dealing with the creation of 'the social history of now'.
He has held eight exhibitions since 2010, the most recent being 'Our Town My Story' in the County Museum this summer.
The lecture is being hosted by The Old Dundalk Society and refreshments will be served afterwards. Voluntary contribution at the door.
