Quintessence set to bring classic Gothic tale to life

Almost 120 years to the day that Bram Stoker's classic first sent chills throughout the world, Quintessence Theatre Company will perform an exciting new anniversary production of Dracula which promises to excite and thrill.

Using their physical ensemble theatre techniques, they will provide a slick visual feast of the classic story about young lawyer Jonathan Harker's visit to Transylvania to help the mysterious foreigner Count Dracula purchase a London house. He makes horrifying discoveries in his client's castle and suddenly finds himself in a desperate, impossible race against time to stop this evil ancient power from taking and destroying all he knows and loves…

An Táin Arts Centre Managing Director Paul Hayes says:'Quintessence have been our company in residence for the past three years and in that time have presented some amazing shows, I am really looking forward to seeing how they bring their own interpretation to one of the world's great Gothic stories.'

An Táin is teaming up with The Market Bar to provide delicious Dracula inspired tapas dishes that can be pre-booked for the performance interval on Friday April 28.

Dracula runs opens on April 27 for three nights at 8pm. Tickets, €15 / €12 concession, on sale at An Táin Arts Centre, 9332332 or online at
