The fourth annual party in the park took place on the first Sunday of September and it was brilliant to see so many children with their parents and grandparents milling around, chatting and enjoying the park.

The entertainment ranged from the potato picking race organised by Sharon Fennelly, to the fun races organised by the Athletics Club, football penalty shoot-outs run by Vincey McGrory and Colm O'Hanlon, the Dog show organised by Peter Monaghan, chalk drawing competition run by Louise Wayenberg, the jumble sale organised by Grainne O'Hanlon and Sarah McGrory and Giant Games, kindly donated by Pelican Promotions.

The Guess the Teddy bears name run by Conor Coan along with the Lolly Pop Draw run by Sarah Coan, Grace Johnston, Ella Duffy and Piffy were huge successes, as was Eileen's Tea Room and Mia and Sadhbhs gingerbread men.

The day raised in excess of €600 towards the cost of fitness equipment for the older members of the community.

A huge thanks to the park committee for all their time and commitment in organising the event, thanks also to the ICA for their display of works, to Kettlebells, the Black Wok, Belles Tea Rooms, Bradleys and Centra for donating the raffle prizes and to Fintan Lynch for providing the music all afternoon.
