Party for Blackrock park all set for Sunday

The fourth annual party in Blackrock park kicks off at 3pm this Sunday.

This year's party is a little more special as the organisers are holding a great balloon race involving the release of 100s of balloons into the sky above Blackrock!

The local school children will be asked to sponsor a balloon for €2 each and there will also be plenty of opportunity to race a balloon on the day.

The balloons will be tagged with a return email address on them and the one registered the furthest away will win the grand prize of a €100 Smyth's voucher. The organisers will post all sightings on their Facebook page. So keep an eye out on Blackrock Park.

There will be loads of fun activities for all the family during the afternoon, from the very popular potato picking competition to chalk drawing, fun games and penalty shoot-outs. There will also be music and refreshments available during the afternoon. It promises to be a really good party and the funds raised will go directly to the park.

Massive thanks goes to Louth County Council festival grants assistance fund for their kind contribution to running this event.

The organisers look forward to seeing everyone there!
