North Louth Artists prepare for annual art exhibition

The North Louth Artists are busy putting the finishing touches on their annual exhibition 'Edge' which opens on Thursday May 16 at 7pm in The Basement Gallery of An Tain Arts Centre.

This exhibition will show paintings ranging from abstract to photorealist in a variety of mediums including oil, watercolour, acrylic and tempera as well as sculpture.

Painters exhibiting this year include Gerry Clarke, Irene Woods, Rosemary Warren, Derek Bell, Paula Eigenheer, Patrick Conyngham, Siobhan Conyngham, Ciara Agnew, John O'Connor, Omin and print maker Robert Kelly. There will also be pieces of sculpture in bronze and steel created by well known sculptors Sandra Bell and guest sculptor Anna Campbell.

This will be an opportunity for local art enthusiasts to catch up with what these talented local artists have been doing since last year. Many of them have taken part in exhibitions in leading galleries throughout the country as well as completing commissions and their work is held in both public and private collections.

The group celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, marking it a pop-up exhibition in December in Creative Spark as well as their annual exhibition.

The exhibition will be official opened by Michael Gaynor, Chamber of Commerce and will continue until Saturday June 1
