Louth near the top of 'Gathering' events table

COUNTY Louth is in the top three for events being held nationwide during 'The Gathering' 2013, with over 90 events planned across the county throughout the year. And as the days are getting longer, the number of Louth events is growing.

The 'Louth Gathering Calendar of Events' brochure was launched recently at a special event held in the Crowne Plaza hotel where various project organisers celebrated their work to date with the Louth Gathering Steering Committee headed by RTE Dragon Gavin Duffy.

Also in attendance was Jim Miley, Project Director of The Gathering, Louth Cathaoirleach, Finan McCoy; County Manager, Joan Martin and Mairead Conway, IPB Insurances.

Featured in the calendar is Cuchulainn and his hound who will be returning for the June Táin March, and the ongoing Gathering History Project, the only project of its kind in the country asking those coming back to the county to record their life experiences.
